Citizens Police Academy

Pensacola area residents are invited to attend the free 11-week Citizen’s Police Academy program. This program gives participants first-hand information about how the Police Department operates. Classes will focus on criminal law, evidence, dispatch, traffic laws, accident reconstruction, DUI laws, K-9, S.W.A.T., Criminal Investigations, and many other topics. All attendees will also be invited to participate in a graduation at the end of the program.

This informative and fun class requires a commitment of one night a week from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. for 11 weeks. All classes are held on Tuesday nights. Dinner, drinks and snacks are provided during each week.

Participation is limited to 30 people ages 18 and older, and Pensacola city residents will be given priority. Anyone who does not get into the current class will be added to a waitlist and given priority registration for the next class.

Participation in the Pensacola Police Departments Citizen’s Academy is a privilege and not a guarantee for members of the public. Any criteria not met regarding background requirements, disruptive classroom behavior, actions that detract from a positive learning environment, or failing to participate in the program may result in being removed from participation at any time.
