Recycling

The City of Pensacola has entered into an agreement with Emerald Coast Utilities Authority to be partners in recycling. We look forward to a long-lasting relationship and hope you will be able to help make that happen. Please take a moment to inform yourself about what goes in your recycle bin. Let’s recycle right.

Curbside Recycling

Curbside recycling collection is provided once a week. With the city recycling cart you can easily separate recyclables from your normal household garbage by placing the following recyclable items in your recycling cart. Placing nonrecyclable items in your recycling cart contaminates the target recyclables and hurts the program.

Remember to place your recycling cart curbside by 6 a.m. on your collection day and remove your cart from the curb after collection. If you have any questions, you can contact customer service at 850-435-1890.

Tips for Recycling

  • Place your recycling cart curbside by 6 a.m. on your designated recycling day.
  • Make sure your recycling cart is at least three feet from any parked cars, mailboxes, power poles, or any other objects to ensure proper collection.
  • Rinse all food containers before placing the items in your recycling cart.
  • There is no need to remove labels or to crush cans before placing them into your recycling cart.
  • Flatten cardboard boxes before placing them in the recycling cart.
  • Place recyclables loosely in the recycling cart.
  • Make it a household challenge to fill the recycling cart each week with your separated recyclables.
