Captain Kristin Brown, whose family hails from Dunbar, WV, lived in many places - including Pensacola - while growing up as the family moved to new assignments during her father’s Marine Corps career.
She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminology from Troy State University and decided to live in Pensacola because her parents retired here.
She was hired as a cadet on January 29, 1996; promoted to police officer on June 30, 1997; to sergeant on April 10, 2006; to lieutenant on August 3, 2015; and to captain on May 22, 2017.
Among her assignments at the Pensacola Police Department have been Uniform Patrol, field training officer, TAC, Vice and Narcotics, Crisis Negotiation Team, Criminal Investigations, Administration, Operational Support Division, and her current assignment overseeing the Uniform Patrol Division.
