It’s Camp Friendship time this week for 60 children within the Pensacola area.
The children, aged five to ten, are spending the week learning about public service, first responders and good citizenship.
In addition to usual camp fare of arts, crafts and games, Camp Friendship participants are also going on field trips to see the Blue Angels, the Naval Aviation Museum, the Pensacola Police and Fire departments, and the Institute for Human & Machine Cognition.
Camp Friendship, which is sponsored by the Pensacola Police Department, is based at Workman Middle School, 6299 Lanier Dr. It lasts from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily except for Friday (June 14) when the camp will end at noon.
