Pensacola Parks and Recreation stepped up to the challenge — the Park Rec Two Step Challenge, that is. Watch these dancers put their best foot forward to take part in the National Recreation and Park Association’s dance contest.
The National Recreation and Park Association announced Monday morning (July 29) that the City of Pensacola's Parks and Recreation Department is the weekly winner of the Park Rec Two Step Challenge. The contest is part of National Park and Recreation Month, which is celebrated in July.
To enter, participants were asked to watch SaulPaul's official training video to get familiar with the dance moves and then create a music video at a local park or recreation area.
Participants of the City of Pensacola's entry included the musical theater class, Ageless Grace class and summer campers at Gull Point Resource Center, summer campers at Fricker Resource Center and Friday Pickers at Sanders Beach-Corinne Jones Resource Center. The entry was submitted on Friday, July 26.
Contest judges have been choosing weekly winners every Monday in July since the contest kicked off. The City of Pensacola won the final weekly spot, which includes a $100 Amazon gift card and national recognition from the NRPA. A grand prize winner will be chosen and notified Aug. 1. The grand prize is a visit from SaulPaul, who will come and film the official Park Rec Two Step music video.
