The City of Pensacola will soon begin accepting proposals for a one-year trial program for micromobility devices, which is expected to begin in January 2020.
The request for proposals is expected to be available on the city's website sometime this month. Interested vendors should sign up for email notifications about city bid opportunities or continue to check the bid page at cityofpensacola.com for updates.
Pensacola City Council approved the trial program and the boundary map in September, which will allow two companies to operate with up to 250 e-scooters or e-bikes each.
Once the request for proposals is issued, interested companies will have 30 days to submit their proposals. A selection committee will then select two companies and negotiate contracts before the companies begin operation in January 2020.
