As holiday travelers prepare for upcoming flights, many question the thought of traveling with holiday gifts, wondering if their beautifully wrapped presents will be ripped while going through the scanner or unwrapped completely in order to get through security. Pensacola International Airport wants passengers to leave that worry behind by offering complimentary gift wrapping to passengers traveling through for the holidays.
“Complimentary gift wrapping is just a simple way the Airport can help our passengers by spreading some holiday cheer and taking what can sometimes be a stressful item off of their holiday to-do list as they travel,” said Interim Airport Director Dan Flynn. “We care about our passengers and want to do what we can to better their travel experience this Christmas season.”
Volunteers from USO Northwest Florida will be running a gift wrapping station inside the concourse for departing passengers after they make their way through the TSA security checkpoint. An additional gift wrapping station will be located on Level 2 near the USO Information Booth for any arriving passengers needing those last minute items wrapped they might have picked up in the gift shop.
Complimentary gift wrapping at Pensacola International Airport will be available Monday, December 21 through Thursday, December 24 from 8 am to 5 pm. All gift wrapping donations benefit USO Northwest Florida.
The Transportation Security Administration strongly encourages passengers to travel with unwrapped gifts to avoid the possibilities of having to unwrap items that require additional screening.
