City of Pensacola administrative offices will be closed Thursday, December 24, and Friday, December 25 in observance of the Christmas holiday. Police, Fire and other emergency services essential for public safety and health will remain open. Routine operations will resume on Monday, December 28.
The City of Pensacola’s Sanitation Services collection schedule will be changed during this Christmas holiday week. Garbage, recycling and yard trash collections that are normally scheduled for Thursday, December 24 will be made a day early on Wednesday, December 23 and Friday’s will be made on Thursday, December 24th. The Sanitation Department will be closed on Christmas Day. All other collections scheduled for Christmas week remain unchanged.
All City of Pensacola resource centers will be closed Thursday, December 24 and Friday, December 25 for the Christmas holiday. Osceola Golf Course will be closed Friday, December 25.
The Airport is waiving applicable landing fees for Santa and his sleigh. Airport staff are working with the TSA Cargo Inspectors to streamline their procedures for inspecting the presents in his sleigh, as it is all considered incoming international cargo, so that they get delivered to the children of the area in a timely manner. FAA Air Traffic Controllers will also be on the lookout for any errant drones in the area that could impact Santa’s flight path.
