Pensacola has a special connection to the military, and here in Northwest Florida, we are blessed to have a community of active, reserve, veteran and retired military service members.
We are surrounded by these men and women of integrity, discipline, and talent. This month, in honor of National Military Appreciation Month, we aspire to show our appreciation for the sacrifices and successes made by our service members - past and present. I encourage Pensacola to honor, remember, recognize and appreciate those who have served and those now serving.
After God and family, service to one’s country is one of the highest callings in our lives, and I have the greatest respect for the sacrifices which they and their families make. Our military men and women and their families do so much and sacrifice so much to take care of America. This is about doing everything we can do ' together ' to take care of them, not just this month but year round.
On behalf of the City of Pensacola, and all of our citizens, I want to recognize and thank all of our current and past service members and their families. We appreciate your sacrifices more than we will ever be able to express.
Thank you.
- Mayor Hayward
