Pensacola Police Chief David Alexander
III has announced badge pinnings for the department’s three newest supervisors.
Sergeant Stephen Bauer has beenpromoted to lieutenant. Bauer was hired as a police officer on June 5, 1995 and
promoted to sergeant on July 26, 2004. Among his assignments have been UniformPatrol, Vice & Narcotics, Investigations, field training sergeant, SWAT,
sergeant over training and school resource officers, officer-in-charge of theDUI Squad, Community Oriented Policing Services officer, and assigned to the
U.S. Marshal’s and U.S. Customs “Blue Lightning” task forces. Bauer has beenassigned to the Criminal Investigations Division since January 4, 2016.
Officer Jamie Briarton has been
promoted to sergeant. Briarton was hired as a cadet on February 10, 1997 andpromoted to police officer on May 18, 1998. Among his assignments have been
Uniform Patrol and Traffic. Since July 25, 2011, he has been one of the department’straffic homicide investigators. He also has served as officer-in-charge of the
Traffic Unit since March 3, 2014.
Detective Amy Parsons has beenpromoted to sergeant. Parsons was hired as an officer on November 21, 2005.
Among her assignments have been Uniform Patrol, School Resource Officer, CommunityOriented Policing Services officer, Investigations, and Gun Crime Response
Team
The promotions take effectJanuary 30. All of the officers will be assigned to the Uniform Patrol Division.
The formal badge pinning is scheduled
for 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, in the department’s training room.
