A
man and woman wanted in connection with the theft of a woman’s purse from hervehicle on February 18 and who then went shopping with the victim’s stolen
credit card the next day have been arrested.
Arrestedon Saturday were:
- Derick
Levell Jones, 30, no permanent address. He was charged with burglary, grandtheft, fraudulent use of a credit card, and petit theft.

Sheena Renise Outing, 30, no permanent address. She was charged with fraudulentuse of a credit card, dealing in stolen property and fraud (providing false
ownership information on pawn items).
DetectiveGilbert Galloway Jr. said the suspects were identified during the investigation
of the initial theft, which occurred sometime between 4 and 5 p.m. February 18in the 200 block of South Florida Blanca Street. The male suspect initially
approached the victim and her husband as they were standing outside their homeand asked if he could stay at their house for a while because he didn’t have
anywhere to stay. The woman’s husband told the suspect they were unable toprovide any type of shelter.
The
woman told police she then walked to her vehicle, put her purse on the backseat, sat in the driver’s seat, and closed the door. She said the suspect
opened the back door, grabbed her purse and ran. The victim chased the suspecton foot and saw him jump into the front passenger seat of an older model
silver/gray sedan with dark tint. The car then fled the scene. Galloway saidthe victim’s husband uses a walker and was unable to help chase the suspect.
On
February 19, the suspects were seen on surveillance video in a local departmentstore where they purchased approximately $2,300 worth of merchandise using the
victim’s credit card, which had been inside her purse.
Also,Outing pawned several items on February 21 that had been purchased with the
victim’s stolen credit card.
