[ARCHIVED] 3rd Annual Pensacola Memorial Day Concert Rescheduled

Memorial Day Concert Postponed

The 3rd Annual Pensacola Memorial Day concert was postponed due to weather and has been rescheduled for Saturday June 2nd at Pensacola State College. There will be two available times to enjoy the free concert which honors and reflects the bravery and sacrifice of American veterans and members of the U.S. Armed Services. The concerts will begin at 6:30 p.m. and at 8 p.m. at the Ashmore Auditorium.

Seating is limited so please reserve your free tickets at the PSC Ticket Office by stopping by or calling 850.484.1847 (limit 4 tickets per order). The PSC Ticket office will be open from 8:30am to 4:00pm Wednesday and Thursday and will be closed on Friday. Ticket office will be open at 5:30pm on Saturday June 2nd.

This concert is an excellent way for area residents, families, and friends to continue the Memorial Day celebration and have the opportunity to honor the men and women who have served in the military to maintain our freedom.

The Memorial Day program directed by Pensacola Civic Band director, Don Snowden, will entertain the audience with a number of patriotic selections that reflect on the sacrifices throughout our nation’s history.

Featured at this year’s concert is Pearl Harbor Survivor, Frank Emond, who will have just celebrated his 100th birthday. Mr. Emond will once again guest conduct the band in Sousa’s “The Stars and Stripes Forever.” Singer, Holly Shelton, joins the band as she performs the American classic “God Bless the U.S.A.”

The concert also features the Heal Our Land Community Choir which is comprised of volunteer singers from across the community. This choir will perform “Heal Our Land” by Wesley Putnam and “God Bless America” arranged by John Moss.

The concert is free and we invite everyone to get their tickets early as seating is limited. For more information, please visit www.pensacolaremembers.org or call the Pensacola State
College Lyceum Ticket Office at 850.484.1847.

This concert is made possible by the generous partnerships of the Pensacola Civic Band, The City of Pensacola Parks and Recreation, Community Maritime Park, and Pensacola
State College.
