UPDATE: Street resurfacing and natural gas infrastructure upgrades


Construction crews will be working during daytime hours in downtown Pensacola Thursday, May 18. Milling and resurfacing activities will be focused on Spring Street, between Main and Garden Street. Once complete, crews will move to portions of Baylen Street, between Main and Garden Streets.
 
Meantime, nighttime work will continue this week on: 

  • South Pace Boulevard, from Barrancas Avenue to the end of the street.
  • Barrancas Avenue, from West Garden Street to South Pace Boulevard. 
The construction work is part of a multi-year program to mill and resurface approximately 119-miles (1800 blocks) of city streets.
 
Impacts associated with the work may include: 
  • Temporary parking restrictions.
  • Lane closures.
  • Increased congestion.
  • Noise and dust. 

The work is weather-dependent, and may be re-scheduled in the event of inclement weather. Questions may be referred to the city’s engineering consultant, Atkins, Inc., (850) 380-9188.
