Community Maritime Park

  1. Fitness Court Launch Party

    April 27, 2018, 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm @ Community Maritime Park

    The Greater Pensacola Chamber, City of Pensacola, and National Fitness Campaign will have a local free fitness event at Vince J. Whibbs Sr. Community Maritime Park. The Greater Pensacola Chamber and the City of Pensacola have partnered with local sponsors and National Fitness Campaign to install and activate a Fitness Court® — a free outdoor bodyweight circuit training fitness center — at Bayview Park, Legion Field, and Vince J. Whibbs Sr. Community Maritime Park. Construction of the courts is made possible through sponsorships and donations. The opening day Fitness Court® Launch Party at Community Maritime Park is the perfect chance to get outside and celebrate healthy living with free giveaways, fitness challenges, fun guided training circuits and more! The launch party will unveil the first of three NFC Fitness Court built in Pensacola. This event will also feature informational trial sessions and free workout demonstrations.

  1. Carpenter’s Creek Town Hall Meeting

    The air potato vine beetle is coming to Carpenter’s Creek this spring just in time to start work on those invasive air potato vines that cover so much of the trees and foliage along the creek. I plan to have our little friends available for you to meet. We will have staff from the Escambia County Extension Center on hand to explain how and where the beetles will be released. Other topics: 1. Update on Restore Project – Commissioner Grover Robinson 2. Update on 9th Ave. Bridge 3. Update on clean up events – Laurie Murphy Town Hall Details: Date: Tuesday , April 24, 2018.     This inaugural cooked food competition will feature all-you-can-sample selections of baked goods, prepared meats, desserts and more! Our guest judges will be David Alexander, Malcolm Thomas and Jean Pierre N'Dione. Proceeds from this delectable event will benefit Council on Aging of West Florida's Senior Companion and Foster Grandparent programs. Senior Companions are healthy older adults who help other adults live independently, while Foster Grandparents give their experience and talent to help children develop the skills, confidence and strength to succeed in life.
