Marcie Whitaker has been a resident of the City of Pensacola for over twenty years. She has over fourteen years of experience in the affordable housing and community development fields. Currently, she serves as the Director for the City of Pensacola’s Housing Office which provides program oversight and administration for the City’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Partnership Act, and the State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) grant funds which are used to support all manner of affordable housing initiatives and community enhancement projects undertaken within the City. Additionally, the Housing Office administers the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher and HUD –Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing programs providing rental assistance to approximately 2,400 participants throughout Escambia County.
Prior to entering public service, Ms. Whitaker had ten years of experience in the environmental consulting industry. She received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Business Administration from the University of South Alabama in Mobile.
